ORSA Hall of Fame
Each year, the Army Operations Research Symposium (AORS) inducts historically distinguished U.S. Army operations research practitioners into the Operations Research/Systems Analysis (ORSA) Hall of Fame. Mr. Walter W. Hollis, former Deputy Undersecretary of the Army for Operations Research, chartered the Hall of Fame in March 2004.
The Hall of Fame honors individuals who have:
- Contributed significantly to U.S. Army Operations Research and Systems Analysis over a sustained period of time
- Advanced Army operations research through doctrinal or technical accomplishments and innovative development
- Demonstrated outstanding personal leadership and noteworthy achievements that inspired others in the field
The charter designates the U.S. Army Materiel Systems Analysis Activity (AMSAA) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland as the permanent location of the ORSA Hall of Fame. Governance is provided by a Board of Directors comprised of leaders from the Army’s major analytic organizations, who review nominations and vote annually to induct up to two honorees. The nomination period begins each April and lasts 60 days; any U.S. Army Soldier or Department of the Army civilian, living or deceased, may be nominated for consideration.
