Service and Career
Major General John G. Ferrari (Ret) is a nonresident senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where he focuses on defense budgets, acquisition reform, and military readiness. He also serves as the Chief Financial Officer of QOMPLX, a data analytics and cybersecurity firm.
Across a 32-year career in the U.S. Army, MG Ferrari served in multiple senior leadership positions, including Director of Program Analysis and Evaluation, Commanding General of White Sands Missile Range, Deputy Commander for Programs at NATO Training Mission–Afghanistan, and Strategic Planner for CJTF-7 in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also served with the U.S. Army Materiel Command, the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Germany, and the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, where he commanded at the company level and served as a plans officer.
MG Ferrari’s joint and interagency experience includes service as Branch Chief for Contingency Operations, Joint Staff (JCS), and as a Program Examiner at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in the White House.
