Abstract
The UK’s Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (Dstl) Land Systems Program is developing functional system concepts in support of the British Army. One such concept is the Find and Strike Swarms (FSS) project which seeks to find and strike mobile targets in the deep. Given the need to investigate the Sensor-Decider-Effector capabilities of potential solution options, a recently developed mission-level model TAP (Target Acquisition and Prosecution), was selected to investigate the types and numbers of sensors and munitions required for mission success. TAP can be expanded to add functionality, having recently upgraded to version 3 using the requirements of the FSS project. The presentation will describe how TAP works and how it is being used alongside a number of other models to down select swarm concepts for size, composition and tactics.
