AORS 2026 Keynote Speaker

Commanding General, U.S. Army Futures and Concepts Command

Join us as we open the 64th Army Operations Research Symposium (AORS) with a keynote address from LTG Michael "Mac" McCurry, followed by the ORSA Hall of Fame induction ceremony and Army Analysis Awards.

LTG Michael C. McCurry was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry in 1988, later becoming a Regular Army Aviation Officer and Scout Helicopter Pilot. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Idaho and master's degrees from the U.S. Naval War College and the U.S. Army War College. He is a certified Joint and Maritime Operational Planner.

His distinguished career includes numerous command and leadership assignments. He has led at the platoon, troop, and squadron levels, including in combat during Operations DESERT STORM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and NEW DAWN. His significant commands include serving as Commander of the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, Deputy Commanding General of the 2d Infantry Division in Korea, and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Rucker, Alabama.

LTG McCurry has held key staff positions across the Army. At the Pentagon, he served on the Army Staff as the Director of Army Aviation (G-3/5/7) and later as the Director of Force Development (G-8). Most recently, he was the Director of Security and Assurance for Operation WARP SPEED and Chief of Staff for Army Futures Command in Austin, Texas.

His military awards are extensive and include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and the Bronze Star Medal. He is authorized to wear the Combat Action Badge, Master Army Aviator badge, and Parachutist badge. He is also a recipient of the Gold Order of Saint Michael.

LTG McCurry is married to the former Sara Goodwin of Fort Rucker, Alabama. They have six children and five grandchildren. Two of his children and one son-in-law currently serve in the Army, while another is a disabled veteran paratrooper.
