Abstract
The modern analytic workforce is diverse, with analysts possessing varied backgrounds, skill levels, and career aspirations. This diversity necessitates a structured yet flexible approach to professional development to ensure meaningful career progression. To meet this need, the Center for Army Analysis (CAA) has developed the CAA Analyst Professional Development Guide (CAPDG), a comprehensive framework designed to support analysts at all stages of their careers. This presentation will detail the Guide's foundational structure, which is built upon four key pillars: Technical, Functional , Leadership, and Communication. We will explore how the guide defines specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) within each pillar across distinct career phases, from initial entry to senior-expert levels. The CAPDG serves as a vital reference for analysts and supervisors to collaboratively plan career paths, establish meaningful appraisal objectives, and achieve a deliberate balance of development tailored to individual goals and organizational requirements. This session will present the CAPDG as an adaptable model to the AORS community, offering it as a template for other analytic organizations to customize for their own professional development programs. Furthermore, the presenter will actively seek feedback from attendees to refine and improve the guide for future iterations.
